2013 In Review

John Williams’ bittersweet Stoner earned the top spot from LBG membership in 2013, heading a strong overall selection including Emile Zola’s classic, Therese Raquin, and Richard Yates’ short story collection, Eleven Kinds of Loneliness.

The year featured a mix of literary classics and books at the height of popularity, including Gone Girl and The Fault in Our Stars. We were also treated to a visit by author Elanor Dymott who discussed her book, Every Contact Leaves a Trace.

For the second year in a row the group felt the overall quality of the selections improved on the previous year. The overall league table is below:
